Some Information About Pastor Mark and Regina
Pastor Mark was born July 15, 1957 in Gainesville, GA. His family lived in August, Ga; Nashville, TN; Spartanburg, SC and eventually settled in Dalton, GA. Mark attended Mt. Carmel High School and he and Regina graduated from Kentucky Mt. Bible College. Pastor Mark was called to preach as a sophomore in high school and was ordained as an Elder in the Church of the Nazarene on the Georgia District in August 1982.
Pastor Mark and Regina Matlock were married on August 11, 1978. They have two adult children, Aaron & Christin and one grandson, Cole. He finished school at Trevecca Nazarene University as a Physicians Assistant and Regina completed Trevecca as a Medical Assistant. Mark & Regina served as Missionaries with the Church of the Nazarene in South Africa and Swaziland. Mark also traveled to Russia with Clyde Dupin Evangelistic Ministries.
Pastor Mark has served on many community boards and groups. His pastorates have been in Georgia, East Tennessee, Iowa and Ohio. He has served the district church in many ways including: District Advisory Board, Ministerial Credentials, Sunday School Ministries Chairman, Sr. High Youth Director, Zone Chairman, Properties Boards and Mission Development Board.
Pastor Mark enjoys golf, watching old classic movies, college sports, computing, hiking, boating/jet skiing, fishing and camping.
Regina was born in Lenoir City, TN. Her mother and 3 siblings still live in and around Lenoir City. She enjoys Skyping her grandson Cole in Lexington, KY. She also enjoys gardening, shopping and keeping in touch with long distant friends & family.
Regina’s work has included: medical assistant, church secretary, medical receptionist, piano teacher, bill collector and home schooling mom. She has served in several ministries of the local and district church, taught Sunday School at all levels, led children’s Bible quizzing, helped with teen Bible quizzing, Caravan director, missions Vice President and numerous other volunteer ministry positions in the church. She also served as mentor in MOPS, participated in National & World Day of Prayer events and served with Ohio Reads.
Her passion is discipleship of new believers and those seeking to be sanctified. The loving care of her husband and the nurture of her children and grandchild remain one of her highest priorities.
